About Wee Willie Winkee Kids Store

Wee Willie was our sons' most loved first soft toy. You know the one: the one you can't sleep without; the one you can't go Grandma's without; the one you can't ever live long enough without to ever go in the wash; the one that calms ANY crisis. You KNOW the one.

Our boys are now in their 20's and it's time to share all the wonderful things that Wee Willie represents to our family with all of you.

In July 2003 we opened the Wee Willie Winkee Kids Store with the philosophy of delivering to you a comprehensive range of well designed, quality products for the child in your life.

We specialise in products to care for, comfort, entertain, stimulate and educate. From the tried-and-true, to the new and innovative, we try to "stock the lot".

Our store is divided into two main areas & we cater for children from new born to 3 years in clothing but right through to 12 years for puzzles, games, science & creative activities & craft.

  • Kids furniture, room decor & clothing
  • Toys, games, books, puzzles, science and music.

Our Staff

Lia

Hi, I'm Lia & I've been the Store manager of Wee Willie Winkee since we opened in 2003, so there are no prizes for guessing that I just adore everything about the place. I do have to confess that as the mother of 3 grown up daughters & the grandmother of 1 grandson & 3 beautiful granddaughters I have a special passion for all the girlie, sparkley dress ups, jewellery, dolls & creative craft products.. But I also can often be found playing with the trucks, trains & diggers especially the Siku & Bruder one because they are so realistic.

Carol

Hi, I'm Carol & I own Wee Willie Winkee. My husband & son make the majority of the childrens furniture that we sell in store so naturally enough I am passionate about the design, functionalality & wow factor that our KC & Urban beds, bunks, storage systems, table & chairs etc offer. Our 2 sons have grown up with us manufacturing furniture for 26 years & in the early years it  was very handy to have real models to test & trial our products & now that they are all grown up it's fantastic to have their skills & fresh ideas enhancing our business.
I also love a good read & get emense pleasure from reading to children (just love their questions & opinions) you will have to come in & check out the amazing selection of Kiwiana & alltime favourite book titles & CD's we have in store.

Chantelle

Hello, I'm Chantelle and I am married to Kris, he is out the back making all the furniture, we have had our first child on the 9th of may a beautiful girl. Being a mum is the best thing and now i have more ideas of what works and what dosn't. We have so many useful and different things in the store that i love and its so hard to not spend money. I look forward to meeting everyone that comes into the shop as i love hearing everyones stories

Dana

Kia ora I'm Dana A I am the lucky one. I come to work to play. I love the challenge of the new games that keep me in touch with the young.
My favourite corner of the shop is where the "Schleich" toys are! Their fantastic range of domestic, African , wild & sea world animals are so detailed & real. The horses are so exceptionally
exciting that my eldest granddaughter (11) googled all the breeds, then educated me about them. My favourite is the Shetland pony!
Whilst my younger granddaughter (9) whom is autistic loves the "Bayala" range. That wonderful imaginary world of the elves & faries has helped her from being non verbal to talking as she plays with the characters. We all have fun & you will too, come in & see!
